SpoKaraoke Song Cards
A SpoKaraoke Song Card is a plastic card with a magnetic stripe (just like one you might get as a gift card or rewards card). Each Song Card has a unique card number that can be linked to your SpoKaraoke.com account, and can be used at our touch-screen kiosks to pull up your favorites list or add new songs to your favorites. You don't need a Song Card to register an account, and you can always link one to your account later.
Next time you come out to sing with us, just ask, and we'll hand one over! It's that easy!
Simple! Just login to your user account with your username and password. Then click on the "Profile" tab at the top of the page. This will bring you to a view of your personal account information. On the right-hand side of the page, under the "SpoKaraoke Song Card" heading, enter the 6-digit card number (printed on the back of your card), and the 4-digit web-code that we provided you with when we gave you a card. Click the "link card" button, and you're all set!
No worries! Just bring your card with you the next time you come out, and we'll give you the web-code again!
There are two ways you can use your Song Card at our kiosks.

Adding songs to your favorites list
When searching our song list, if you see a song you'd like to add to your favorites list, simply highlight the name of the song by touching it with your finger. Once the song is highlighted, you will notice an "Add" link to the right of the song. Pressing that will bring up a screen that asks you for your key change and version preferences. Once you've selected your preferences, swipe your card through the card-reader, and the song will be added to your favorites!

Viewing your favorites list:
Simply touch the "View My Favorites" button and you will be prompted to swipe your Song Card through the card-reader. This will bring up your favorites list. It's that simple.
SpoKaraoke.com Songs
Searching our database is easy, but here's a few tips to help you get the results you want:
Check you spelling! If you spell the name of the song or artist wrong, you won't get what you're looking for. If you're not sure of how to spell part of it, just spell the portion that you know. For instance, instead of typing the entire song title / artist name like "Crosby Stills And Nash Marrakesh Express", try "Crosby Exp", and you'll get similar results, but make sure to use at least three letters in each word you type (the search algorithm ignores words that are two letters or less).
Avoid using punctuation (except for apostrophes in words like "don't" or "wasn't"). Sometimes the title uses "&" instead of "and" or will be listed as TGIF instead of T.G.I.F. (or vice-versa).
Keep in mind that sometimes songs are listed with last-name-first first-name-last (like "Adkins, Trace"), but also they may be listed under "Trace Adkins", so avoid comma's and if you don't see what you're looking for under "Adkins, Trace", don't forget to check under "Trace Adkins" further down the list!
Sometimes in our database, the artist name and song title columns are swapped! We're working on fixing this problem, but it's a TON of work with almost 50,000 songs to go through, so just keep that in mind when you're looking through your search results.
Yes, we have a lot of duplicates... There are several companies out there that record and distribute karaoke discs, so we may have the same song on several of our discs. Also, many times, a karaoke manufacturer will put the same song on more than one disc... for instance, they might put a country song on a 'country hits of 2010' disc, but you'll also find the same song on a 'country hits of April 2010' disc, etc.
We are working hard to streamline our database to exclude duplicate songs from the same manufacturer, so stay tuned... It's a lot of work.
By looking at the song numbers, you can usually tell which company manufactured the disc. The numbers are typically a series of letters, followed by numbers, followed by another set of numbers. The letters indicate the manufacturer, and the first set of numbers indicate the disc number and the last numbers are usually the track number on that disc.
Not all karaoke tracks are created equally, some companies make really good karaoke tracks that sound very close to the original music, and others are just phoning it in!
We do our best to get decent quality music, but there are some crap ones. So, the best way to pick a karaoke song version is to familiarize yourself with the manufacturer letters in the song numbers. For instance, songs that start with "SC" are made by Sound Choice, while song numbers that start with "CB" are made by Chartbusters.
If we've got either of those versions, pick those, as we find that Chartbuster and Sound Choice consistently have good quality tracks. The rest can be a bit of a crapshoot.
If all else fails, we can always pick the best one for you. When you add a song to your favorites list, select "No" for version preference. This will let us know that you want us to pick the best track from our list for you. Some people (karaoke die-hards) know exactly which version they want to sing, so they would select "yes" for version preference.
